Levodropropizine is an N-arylpiperazine, specifically N-phenylpiperazine with the amino hydrogen replaced by a 2,3-dihydroxypropyl group (the S-enantiomer). It is a peripherally acting antitussive drug used as an alternative to opioids. It functions as an antitussive, and is also a N-alkylpiperazine and a secondary alcohol.
