Cefpirome is a fourth-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with a 6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[b]pyridinium-1-ylmethyl group at position 3 and a [(2Z)-2-(2-amino-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)-2-(methoxyimino)acetyl]amino side group at position 7. It is a cyclopentapyridine and a cephalosporin.
