Doxofylline is an oxopurine xanthine derivative, methylated at N-1 and N-3, with a 1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl group at N-7. It is used in asthma treatment as a bronchodilator, antitussive, and anti-asthmatic drug, and is functionally related to 7H-xanthine.
