Dyphylline is an oxopurine with a 2,3-dihydroxypropyl group at the 7-position of the theophylline molecule. It acts as a bronchodilator, vasodilator, phosphoric diester hydrolase inhibitor, and muscle relaxant. It is used in the treatment of asthma, cardiac dyspnea, and bronchitis, and is also found in cough remedies. It belongs to the class of propane-1,2-diols.
