Product Information

Betaxolol is a propanolamine derived from 3-aminopropane-1,2-diol, with the primary hydroxy group replaced by a 4-[2-(cyclopropylmethoxy)ethyl]phenyl group and one amino hydrogen substituted by isopropyl. It is a selective beta1-receptor blocker used in the treatment of glaucoma, hypertension, arrhythmias, and coronary heart disease. It also reduces non-fatal cardiac events in heart failure patients. It functions as a beta-adrenergic antagonist, antihypertensive agent, and sympatholytic agent.
