Product Information

Aclacinomycin A is an anthracycline antibiotic produced by *Streptomyces galilaeus* with potent antineoplastic activity. It functions as an antimicrobial agent, an EC 5.99.1.3 [DNA topoisomerase (ATP-hydrolysing)] inhibitor, an apoptosis inducer, and an antineoplastic agent. It is a bacterial metabolite and belongs to the classes of aminoglycosides, trisaccharide derivatives, polyketides, phenols, methyl esters, and tetracenequinones. It is functionally related to aklavinone and is a conjugate base of aclacinomycin A(1+), as well as a tautomer of aclacinomycin A zwitterion.
