Osimertinib is a 4-(1-methylindol-3-yl)pyrimidin-2-amine in which one amino hydrogen is replaced by a 2-methoxy-4-[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl](methyl)amino-5-acrylamidophenyl group. It is used as the mesylate salt for treating EGFR T790M mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer. It functions as an antineoplastic agent and an epidermal growth factor receptor antagonist. It belongs to the classes of indoles, aminopyrimidines, biaryls, secondary and tertiary amino compounds, monomethoxybenzenes, acrylamides, substituted anilines, and secondary carboxamides. It is the conjugate base of osimertinib(1+).
