Vericiguat is a 5-fluoro-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine derivative with a 2-fluorobenzyl group substituting the amino hydrogen at position 1 and a 4,6-diamino-5-[(methoxycarbonyl)amino]pyrimidin-2-yl group substituting the hydrogen at position 3. It functions as a soluble guanylate cyclase stimulator and is used in the treatment of chronic heart failure. Vericiguat acts as a soluble guanylate cyclase activator, vasodilator, and antihypertensive agent. It belongs to the classes of aminopyrimidine, pyrazolopyridine, carbamate ester, and organofluorine compounds.
