Fluconazole is a triazole antifungal drug with a propan-2-ol core substituted at positions 1 and 3 by 1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl groups and at position 2 by a 2,4-difluorophenyl group. It is used to treat mucosal candidiasis and systemic infections such as candidiasis, coccidioidomycosis, and cryptococcosis. It functions as a P450 inhibitor, environmental contaminant, and xenobiotic. It is a difluorobenzene, tertiary alcohol, conazole, and functionally related to 1,3-difluorobenzene, deriving from a hydride of 1H-1,2,4-triazole.
