Raloxifene

Raloxifene is a 1-benzothiophene in which the hydrogens at positions 2, 3, and 6 are replaced by p-hydroxyphenyl, p-[2-(piperidin-1-yl)ethoxy]benzoyl, and hydroxy groups, respectively. It functions as a bone density conservation agent, estrogen receptor modulator, and estrogen antagonist. It belongs to the classes of phenols, aromatic ketones, 1-benzothiophenes, and N-oxyethylpiperidine. It is the conjugate base of raloxifene(1+).
