Gepirone

Gepirone is a piperidone derivative substituted with a 4-[4-(pyrimidin-2-yl)piperazin-1-yl]butyl group at position 1 and two methyl groups at position 4. It functions as a serotonergic agonist, antidepressant, and anxiolytic drug. Gepirone belongs to the classes of pyrimidines, N-alkylpiperazines, and piperidones, and is the conjugate base of gepirone(1+).
