Product Information

Bixin is the 6'-monomethyl ester of 9'-cis-6,6'-diapocarotene-6,6'-dioic acid, a carotenoic acid. It functions as an antioxidant, insulin-sensitizing drug, biological pigment, anti-inflammatory agent, food colouring, and apoptosis inducer. It is also a dicarboxylic acid monoester and a methyl ester.
