Product Information

Alpha-methyl-L-tyrosine is an L-tyrosine derivative with an additional methyl group at position 2. It inhibits tyrosine 3-monooxygenase, thereby blocking catecholamine synthesis. Used to manage symptoms of excessive sympathetic stimulation in pheochromocytoma patients, it functions as an antihypertensive and EC 1.14.16.2 inhibitor. It is a non-proteinogenic L-alpha-amino acid.
