Nintedanib is an oxindole derivative and kinase inhibitor, used as its ethylsulfonate salt in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and cancer. It functions as an antineoplastic agent, tyrosine kinase inhibitor, VEGF receptor antagonist, FGFR antagonist, and angiogenesis inhibitor. Chemically, it is an aromatic ester, methyl ester, enamine, aromatic amine, aromatic amide, and N-alkylpiperazine. It is also the conjugate base of nintedanib(1+).
