Gamma-L-Glutamyl-L-cysteine

L-gamma-glutamyl-L-cysteine is a molecular entity formed by the binding of the L-cysteine amino group to the gamma-carbonyl of L-glutamic acid. It functions as a metabolite in humans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Escherichia coli, and mice. It is functionally related to L-glutamic acid and L-cysteine, and is the conjugate acid of L-gamma-glutamyl-L-cysteinate(1-).
