4'-Epidoxorubicin is an anthracycline and 4'-epi-isomer of doxorubicin. It functions as a DNA topoisomerase (ATP-hydrolysing) inhibitor, antineoplastic agent, and antimicrobial agent. It is a deoxy hexoside, anthracycline antibiotic, aminoglycoside, monosaccharide derivative, p-quinone, primary alpha-hydroxy ketone, and tertiary alpha-hydroxy ketone. It is functionally related to doxorubicin and is the conjugate base of 4'-epidoxorubicinium.
