Rolapitant is an azaspiro compound, specifically 1,7-diazaspiro[4.5]decan-2-one, with additional phenyl and 1-{[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethoxy}methyl groups at position 8. It is used as the hydrochloride hydrate for the prevention of delayed nausea and vomiting associated with emetogenic cancer chemotherapy. It functions as an antiemetic and neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist. It is an ether, azaspiro compound, pyrrolidin-2-one, piperidine, and organofluorine compound. It is the conjugate base of rolapitant(1+).
