Neoastilbin is a flavanone glycoside with a (-)-taxifolin core substituted by an alpha-L-rhamnosyl group at position 3 via a glycosidic linkage. It is an alpha-L-rhamnoside, a member of both 3'- and 4'-hydroxyflavanones, a tetrahydroxyflavanone, a monosaccharide derivative, and a flavanone glycoside. It is functionally related to (-)-taxifolin and is the enantiomer of astilbin.
