Myricetin is a hexahydroxyflavone with hydroxy groups at positions 3, 3', 4', 5, 5', and 7. It is a 7-hydroxyflavonol and a conjugate acid of myricetin(1-). Isolated from the leaves of *Myrica rubra* and other plants, it functions as a cyclooxygenase 1 inhibitor, antineoplastic agent, antioxidant, plant metabolite, food component, hypoglycemic agent, and geroprotector.
