Product Information

Flunixin is a pyridinemonocarboxylic acid with a 2-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenylamino group at position 2, substituting the nicotinic acid structure. It is a potent non-narcotic, nonsteroidal analgesic with anti-inflammatory, anti-endotoxic, and antipyretic properties. Used in veterinary medicine, typically as the meglumine salt, for horses, cattle, and pigs. It functions as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, antipyretic, non-narcotic analgesic, and inhibitor of prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase (EC 1.14.99.1). It is also a conjugate acid of flunixin(1-), an aminopyridine, and an organofluorine compound.
