Glafenine is a carboxylic ester of 2,3-dihydroxypropyl anthranilate, with the amino group substituted by a 7-chloroquinolin-4-yl group. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and non-narcotic analgesic, used for pain relief but withdrawn due to anaphylactic reactions. It is an organochlorine compound, secondary amino compound, glycol, carboxylic ester, aminoquinoline, and functionally related to glycerol and anthranilic acid.
