Bromhexine

Bromhexine is a substituted aniline, specifically 2,4-dibromoaniline with a [cyclohexyl(methyl)amino]methyl group at position 6. It is used as the monohydrochloride salt as a mucolytic for respiratory disorders involving productive cough. It functions as a mucolytic, tertiary amino compound, and organobromine compound. It is the conjugate base of bromhexine(1+).
