L-norleucine is a non-proteinogenic L-alpha-amino acid with an amino group at C-2 of hexanoic acid. It does not occur naturally and is the conjugate acid of L-2-aminohexanoate. It is an enantiomer of D-norleucine and a tautomer of the L-2-aminohexanoic acid zwitterion.
