Pectolinarin is a disaccharide derivative composed of pectolinarigenin substituted at position 7 with a 6-O-(6-deoxy-α-L-mannopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranosyl moiety via a glycosidic linkage. It functions as an apoptosis inducer, anti-inflammatory agent, antineoplastic agent, EC 3.4.22.69 (SARS coronavirus main proteinase) inhibitor, and antioxidant. It belongs to the classes of dimethoxyflavone, rutinoside, glycosyloxyflavone, disaccharide derivative, and monohydroxyflavanone, and is functionally related to pectolinarigenin.
