Ketoprofen is an oxo monocarboxylic acid with a 3-benzoylphenyl group at position 2 of a propionic acid structure. It functions as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, antipyretic, inhibitor of EC 1.14.99.1 (prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase), environmental contaminant, xenobiotic, and drug allergen. It belongs to benzophenones and is functionally related to propionic acid.
