Product Information

Digoxin is a cardenolide glycoside derived from the foxglove plant *Digitalis lanata*, specifically digitoxin beta-hydroxylated at C-12. It is used to control ventricular rate in atrial fibrillation and manage congestive heart failure with atrial fibrillation. Due to its narrow therapeutic window, it is used cautiously. It functions as an anti-arrhythmia, cardiotonic drug, and inhibitor of EC 3.6.3.9 (Na(+)/K(+)-transporting ATPase). It is also an epitope, a cardenolide glycoside, a steroid saponin, and the conjugate acid of digoxin(1-).
