Product Information

Calcidiol is a hydroxycalciol in which the hydrogen at position 25 is replaced by a hydroxy group. It is a prehormone formed by the oxidation of calciol in the liver and is further hydroxylated in the kidney to produce calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D3. It functions as a bone density conservation agent, nutraceutical, metabolite, and is found in both human and mouse metabolomes. It is classified as a hydroxycalciol, a member of D3 vitamins, and a diol.
