Abafungin is a guanidine derivative belonging to the tetrahydropyrimidin-2(1H)-imine class. The imino group's hydrogen is replaced by a thiazol-2-yl group, which is substituted at position 4 with a 2-(2,4-dimethylphenoxy)phenyl group. It is used topically for treating fungal nail infections and functions as an antifungal drug. It is also a member of 1,3-thiazoles and aromatic ethers.
