Bexagliflozin is a C-glycosyl compound consisting of beta-D-glucose with the anomeric hydroxy group replaced by a 4-chloro-3-({4-[2-(cyclopropyloxy)ethoxy]phenyl}methyl)phenyl group. It is an SGLT2 inhibitor used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It functions as a sodium-glucose transport protein subtype 2 inhibitor, hypoglycemic agent, and antihypertensive agent. It is also a C-glycosyl compound, aromatic ether, monochlorobenzene, diether, and member of cyclopropanes.
