Product Information

Ginsenoside Rb2 is a ginsenoside from Panax ginseng, a dammarane-type triterpenoid with hydroxy groups at the 3beta, 12beta, and 20 pro-S positions. The hydroxy groups at positions 3 and 20 are converted to beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1->2)-beta-D-glucopyranoside and alpha-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1->6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside, respectively. A double bond is introduced at the 24-25 position. It functions as a plant metabolite, antiviral agent, and hypoglycemic agent. It is a 12beta-hydroxy steroid, beta-D-glucoside, disaccharide derivative, ginsenoside, and tetracyclic triterpenoid, derived from a dammarane hydride.
