Product Information

Terbinafine is a tertiary amine, specifically N-methyl-1-naphthalenemethylamine with the amino hydrogen replaced by a 3-(tert-butylethynyl)allyl group. It is an antifungal agent administered orally, typically as the hydrochloride salt, for treating skin and nail infections. It inhibits EC 1.14.13.132 (squalene monooxygenase), P450, and sterol biosynthesis. It is an acetylenic compound, a member of naphthalenes, an enyne, and an allylamine antifungal drug. It is also the conjugate base of terbinafine(1+).
