Idelalisib is a quinazoline derivative, specifically 5-fluoro-3-phenylquinazolin-4-one with the hydrogen at position 2 replaced by a (1S)-1-(3H-purin-6-ylamino)propyl group. It is used to treat refractory indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and relapsed chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It functions as an antineoplastic agent, apoptosis inducer, and inhibitor of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (EC 2.7.1.137). It belongs to the classes of purines, organofluorine compounds, quinazolines, aromatic amines, and secondary amino compounds.
