Chlophedianol

Clofedanol is a diarylmethane, specifically 2-chlorophenyl(phenyl)methane, substituted on the methane carbon with a 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl group. It is used as an antitussive to treat dry cough by directly suppressing the cough reflex in the medulla's cough center. It is also a tertiary amino compound and a conjugate base of clofedanol(1+).
