Product Information

Procarbazine is a benzamide formed by the formal condensation of the carboxy group of 4-[(2-methylhydrazino)methyl]benzoic acid with the amino group of isopropylamine. It is an antineoplastic chemotherapy drug used in the treatment of Hodgkin's lymphoma. Metabolism produces azo-procarbazine and hydrogen peroxide, leading to DNA strand breakage. It functions as an antineoplastic agent, and is a member of hydrazines and benzamides. It is also the conjugate base of procarbazine(1+).
