Product Information

Butoconazole is an imidazole antifungal drug, specifically a conazole, with the structure of 1H-imidazole where the hydrogen on the nitrogen is substituted by a 4-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-[(2,6-dichlorophenyl)sulfanyl]butyl group. It is used as its nitrate salt in gynaecology to treat vulvovaginal infections caused by Candida species, particularly Candida albicans. It is also a conjugate base of butoconazole(1+), and belongs to the classes of imidazoles, aryl sulfides, dichlorobenzenes, and monochlorobenzenes.
