Albendazole is a carbamate ester, specifically methyl 1H-benzimidazol-2-ylcarbamate substituted with a propylsulfanyl group at position 5. It is used in the treatment of parasitic worm infestations and functions as a tubulin modulator, microtubule-destabilizing agent, and anthelminthic drug.
