Tasisulam

Tasisulam is a thiophene substituted with a 2,4-dichlorobenzamide-N-sulfonyl group and bromo groups at positions 2 and 4. It induces tumor cell apoptosis through ROS generation and mitochondrial membrane potential loss. It is in clinical development for cancer treatment and functions as an angiogenesis inhibitor, antineoplastic agent, and apoptosis inducer. It belongs to thiophenes, organobromine compounds, dichlorobenzenes, and N-sulfonylcarboxamides.
