Pamapimod is a pyridopyrimidine compound with an 8-methylpyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-7(8H)-one core, substituted at position 2 with a (1,5-dihydroxypentan-3-yl)amino group and at position 6 with a 2,4-difluorophenoxy group. It is a potent inhibitor of MAPK, used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It functions as an EC 2.7.11.24 (mitogen-activated protein kinase) inhibitor and an antirheumatic drug. It also exhibits properties of an aromatic ether, difluorobenzene, aromatic amine, secondary amino compound, primary alcohol, and diol.
