Product Information

Penciclovir is a 2-aminopurine derivative with a 4-hydroxy-3-(hydroxymethyl)but-1-yl group at position 9 of guanine. It is an antiviral drug used topically for herpes labialis. As a prodrug, famciclovir is used orally. It belongs to 2-aminopurines and propane-1,3-diols and is functionally related to guanine.
