Metoclopramide

Metoclopramide is a benzamide formed by the condensation of 4-amino-5-chloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid with the primary amino group of N,N-diethylethane-1,2-diamine. It functions as an antiemetic, dopaminergic antagonist, gastrointestinal drug, xenobiotic, and environmental contaminant. It is a tertiary amino compound, substituted aniline, member of benzamides, and monochlorobenzenes. It is the conjugate base of metoclopramide(1+).
