Bumadizone is a carbohydrazide formed by the formal condensation of a carboxy group from butylmalonic acid with the hydrazino group of 1,2-diphenylhydrazine. It is used as its calcium semihydrate in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It functions as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and antipyretic. It is a monocarboxylic acid and a carbohydrazide, functionally related to malonic acid, and is the conjugate acid of bumadizone(1-).
