Product Information

Benzbromarone is a 1-benzofuran substituted at C-2 with an ethyl group and at C-3 with a 3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxybenzoyl group. It is a CYP2C9 inhibitor used as an anti-gout medication and functions as a uricosuric drug. It belongs to the class of 1-benzofurans and aromatic ketones, and is functionally related to 2,6-dibromophenol.
