Fenoprofen is a monocarboxylic acid derived from propanoic acid, with a hydrogen at position 2 replaced by a 3-phenoxyphenyl group. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, used for managing mild to moderate pain and relieving pain and inflammation in conditions like arthritis. Pharmacologically similar to aspirin, it causes less gastrointestinal bleeding. It acts as a cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 inhibitor, antipyretic, non-narcotic analgesic, and drug allergen. It is also the conjugate acid of fenoprofen(1-).
