Product Information

Clomipramine is a dibenzoazepine, specifically 10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[b,f]azepine, substituted with chlorine at position 3 and featuring a 3-(dimethylamino)propyl group in place of the nitrogen-bound hydrogen. It is a sedating tricyclic antidepressant used as the hydrochloride salt for treating depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and phobias. It acts as a serotonergic antagonist, serotonin uptake inhibitor, trypanothione-disulfide reductase inhibitor, antidepressant, and anticoronaviral agent. Functionally related to imipramine, it is the conjugate base of clomipramine(1+).
