L-Kynurenine is an L-configured non-proteinogenic L-alpha-amino acid and kynurenine. It functions as a human, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and mouse metabolite. It is the conjugate acid of L-kynureninate and the enantiomer of D-kynurenine. It is also a tautomer of L-kynurenine zwitterion.
