Product Information

Fluorescein (lactone form) is a highly fluorescent xanthene dye detectable in minute quantities. It is used forensically to detect blood traces, as an indicator in silver nitrate titrations, and in microscopy. It functions as a radioopaque medium and fluorescent dye. Chemically, it is a gamma-lactone, polyphenol, oxaspiro compound, member of 2-benzofurans, and an organic heteropentacyclic compound. It is functionally related to fluorescein (acid form).
