Cephapirin

Cephapirin is a cephalosporin with acetoxymethyl and 2(pyridin-4-ylsulfanyl)acetamido groups at positions 3 and 7 of the cephem skeleton. It is used as its sodium salt, an antibiotic effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive organisms. It functions as an antibacterial drug and is the conjugate acid of cephapirin(1-).
