Trichlormethiazide

Trichlormethiazide is a benzothiadiazine with hydrogenation at positions 2, 3, and 4. It contains an aminosulfonyl group at C-7, a chloro substituent at C-6, a dichloromethyl group at C-3, and an S,S-dioxide at S-1. It is a sulfonamide antibiotic used as a diuretic for treating edema, including that associated with heart failure, and hypertension. It functions as a diuretic and antihypertensive agent.
