It is a proinsecticide used for termite control and crop protection against various insects and mite pests. It functions as a proinsecticide and proacaricide, and is classified as an organofluorine acaricide, organochlorine acaricide, organochlorine insecticide, organofluorine insecticide, monochlorobenzene, nitrile, pyrrole, and hemiaminal ether. It is functionally related to tralopyril.
