Trifluoperazine is a phenothiazine with a trifluoromethyl group at the 2-position and a 3-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)propyl group at the N-10 position. It functions as a dopaminergic antagonist, antiemetic, inhibitor of EC 1.8.1.12 (trypanothione-disulfide reductase) and EC 5.3.3.5 (cholestenol Delta-isomerase), calmodulin antagonist, and phenothiazine antipsychotic drug. It is also a N-alkylpiperazine, N-methylpiperazine, member of phenothiazines, and an organofluorine compound.
